Meet the Owner

Hello All! 

My name is Courtney (spelled the right way- hehe). I have so much I could write here and so much I could share! First off, I want you to know that when you shop at Poppy's Place you are supporting a hard-working, single mom, boy mom/toddler mom, entrepreneur, and first responder (to name a few). 

Some fun facts about me, I used to work at the Sierra Railroad Dinner Train when it was running here in town (Oakdale, CA). I played softball and umpired in the surrounding areas while growing up. I studied Sociology & CJ, joined a fun sorority and graduated from Stan State. Nowadays, I will usually always have a yummy Iced Coffee in my hand. I would tell you my baseball team, but you may not like me (hehe). I don't have much free time but if I do, you might catch me baking cookies or enjoying a craft beer. 

My store is truly a family affair, and I could NOT have done it without them. My Dad is the installer and advisor, Mom the retail display/interior designer, Sister the part time Manager, Brother is the fill in installer/fixer, Aunties are the event support and cheerleaders. We can't forget the Store Mascot, my son, who is the reason we exist today!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your support and positive reviews. Small businesses thrive on word of mouth and referrals. I appreciate each and every consignor and customer. 

I know you may have gotten used to seeing my in the shop a lot, but that was when my son was smaller and could be in his pack & play in the shop with me. Now, I tell my staff that I employee them to watch my 2nd baby so that I can be home and watch my 1st baby grow up!
